Kiln Firing Service
Following several requests from our students we are pleased to be able to offer a kiln firing service. This is an open service designed to allow artists that have no kiln access to fire their delicate, hollow form and intricate pieces in a kiln.
The kiln firing service has been set up to meet the growing number of artists producing outstanding work but have not made the huge financial commitment of purchasing their own kiln. Now artists are able to continue creating their unique pieces and have access to firing facilities on a one off payment basis.
The kiln used for firing is a Paragon SC2 (regarded as THE kiln for precious metal clay) which has a fully programmable, digital controller meaning your pieces are only fired to the exact time and temperature required. The cost of the service is based on renting the entire kiln space for one firing. This means your pieces will not be mixed with other artists work and you can dictate the firing schedule especially inportant when using gemstones and glass. You can submit as many or as few pieces as you would like included in the schedule and pieces will be returned to you shortly after (typically next day)
This service can be provided in person or via post (please include return prepaid postage) The cost of a single firing is £15 and advice can be given regarding firing schedules if required. We regret that this service is limited to metal clay and glass jewellery items only and we cannot accept ceramic items.
