Introduction to Precious Metal Clay
This one day workshop is aimed a those with creative flair who have never used or have very little experience of using precious metal clay. In this introduction class, you will learn how to use simple tools, most of which can be found around the home, to craft silver clay into beautiful jewelry. During the workshop you will learn the basic techniques of handling, forming, finishing and firing the clay. You will also learn ways to work the fine silver products into stunning and unique pieces. The course notes can be followed precisely, or used as guides to creating your own, personal masterpiece.
The course will take you through making up to four finished pieces and the cost of the course includes up to 20g precious metal clay, 10g precious metal clay syringe type, all jewellery findings and the use of all tools and firing equipment. You will also receive a set of comprehensive course project sheets that you can take home and use to guide you in your new hobby. If you want to buy complete silver clay kits, firing sets or just the precious metal clay, these will also be available for sale.
This is a full day workshop running from 10am - 5pm. The cost of the workshop is £95 per student, payable on booking.
The workshops are mostly held in Solihull Town Centre at the Oliver Bird Hall, with a few being held at the beautiful St Catherine's Church Hall. Tea coffee and biscuits are provided throughout the day, there are a number of local pubs, cafes and other places to eat. Onsite parking is available for the duration of the course.
